with working pin and clutch, measures approx 1 3/4" x 1 3/4, signed on reverse Accessocraft Official B.W.R.S. which stands for: “British War Relief Society Brooch - Bundles For Britain", it was designed by Robert R. Appleby in 1940
These were produced during World War ll by Accessocraft and sold to raise money to support the war effort.Pin features a Royal Crown over a Lion with the words "Dieu et mon Droit" meaning "God and My Right"; the motto of the British Royal Crest and red white and blue enamel as a sign of Patriotism. They are mentioned in the Brunialti Jewelry Guide on page 61 as a "Tribute to America".
